Less than 24 hours after its launch, the crowdfunding campaign for the Downfall expansion to Slay the Spire: The Board Game has already accumulated nearly 200 million rubles (approximately $2.1 million USD) for publisher Contention Games.

The Downfall expansion campaign for Slay the Spire: The Board Game, a tabletop adaptation of the popular roguelike video game Slay the Spire (which itself has a sequel), commenced on Kickstarter on March 24th.

Contention Games achieved its primary funding goal of $50,000 (4,024,844 rubles) in a mere 10 minutes. The overwhelming enthusiasm from players is clear, with the campaign having raised an impressive $2,410,523 (194,039,607 rubles) with 15 days still remaining.

Downfall will introduce players to new playable characters: Slime Boss, commanding slime minions; The Guardian, capable of entering a defensive mode; Hexaghost, who can ignite enemies with a “soul burn”; and The Hermit, wielding a pistol.

Players can also anticipate new cards, exclusive rewards, and engaging events. Currently, the standard version of the expansion is available for preorder at $84 (6,761 rubles), the Downfall Collector’s Edition at $119 (9,579 rubles), and the Collector’s Edition of the base game (without the expansion) at $159 (12,799 rubles).

Additional tiers include the Downfall All-In set for $262 (21,090 rubles), a Collector’s Bundle for $268 (21,573 rubles), and the Heart’s All-In set for $425 (34,211 rubles). Backers can expect the Downfall expansion to ship in April 2027.
