SCS Software Temporarily Halts World of Trucks Events for In-Game Integration in ETS2 & ATS

After many years, the World of Trucks system, which facilitates in-game events for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, is set for a significant overhaul.

For years, SCS Software, the creators of the popular trucking simulators ETS2 and ATS, have regularly organized various cargo delivery events. Participation traditionally required registering a World of Trucks (WoT) account.

A frequent complaint from the community was the inconvenience of claiming rewards for these events: players had to visit the WoT website to activate prizes, which were then linked to their Steam accounts, instead of managing the entire process directly within the game.

Listening to community feedback, SCS Software has announced upcoming major changes to the event system.

Consequently, a decision has been made to temporarily pause all future World of Trucks events.

The primary goal is to integrate all current WoT platform functionalities, such as viewing and claiming rewards, tracking progress, and achievements, directly into the game itself.

This break is an important step for us. To improve the event system, we need to invest time in refining the underlying systems and infrastructure that support them. This means reworking how events function ‘behind the scenes’ and how they are perceived in-game. As part of this process, we want to move much more of the event elements directly into the game itself. This includes the ability to view and claim rewards, earn and see achievements, and track event progress and community milestones — all directly within the game.
