Saber Secures ESRB Rating for Hellraiser: Revival Without Content Cuts

Players can anticipate experiencing Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival exactly as its developers envisioned it.

Promotional materials for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival captivated audiences with their gruesome and explicit content. This led to concerns that rating agencies might deem it unacceptable, potentially necessitating content cuts.

Previously, in an interview with IGN, Saber Interactive’s Creative Director Tim Willits indicated the developers’ intention to push the boundaries of the “M” (Mature) rating:

“We’re going to go as far as we possibly can—as far as the people who set the rules allow us to go. And I hope we can release a single version of the game, but we are prepared to go as far as we possibly can.”

Ultimately, the developers did not have to make any cuts, successfully securing an ESRB rating for the U.S. and Canada.

However, the game has yet to receive ratings in many other regions. There remains a risk that a separate version might be required for these territories.

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is anticipated for release in 2026.
