Rust Gears Up with Hydro Power and Human-Powered Water Wheels – Yes, Forced Labor Included

Rust, the notoriously brutal survival game, is introducing new methods of power generation that perfectly blend its challenging gameplay with a touch of dark humor. Players will soon be able to harness hydro power through newly implemented water wheels.

Interestingly, these wheels aren’t solely reliant on natural currents; they can also be manually operated by players, much like a giant hamster wheel. A recent in-game scene humorously depicted one player enjoying a moment of leisure on a deckchair while another was seemingly tasked with powering the base by tirelessly running on such a wheel.

For those familiar with Rust’s unique player interactions, the developers have confirmed that, yes, even handcuffed players can be compelled to provide manual labor on these wheels, adding a new layer of strategic (or sadistic) base management and resource generation.
