Rockstar North UK Listed by HMRC for Employee Underpayment

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the UK’s tax authority, has recently brought attention to Rockstar Games, specifically its UK-based entity, Rockstar North UK Limited. Following previous accusations from fans regarding alleged underpayment of staff, the studio responsible for developing the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI has now been officially included in the United Kingdom’s list of organizations that are debtors for unpaid wages.

HMRC’s investigation concluded that Rockstar North UK Limited failed to pay several employees approximately £1,400 (equivalent to about $1,800) in 2025. As a result of this finding, “Rockstar North UK Limited” is now listed as entry number 235 among 389 entities that have been ordered to settle outstanding salaries owed to their employees. The average amount of debt owed by other organizations on this list typically ranges between £1,000 and £1,400.
