Rockstar Faces Player Complaints After Red Dead Redemption 2 Patch Causes Achievement Bug

Recent updates for Red Dead Redemption and RDR 2 on PC via Steam have led to player concerns regarding the achievement system. Many users are requesting a reset of their in-game statistics.

In late March, players observed unexpected technical updates for both games, which were related to Rockstar Games’ services.

Following these updates, a system glitch occurred, resulting in some users being granted random achievements for game progression and Red Dead Online activity, despite not having earned them.

Although developers quickly released an additional patch, the unearned achievements continue to appear on the Steam profiles of affected players. Notably, on the Rockstar Social Club website, these same achievements are listed as locked, indicating that the bug is exclusive to the Steam platform.

Currently, members of the Red Dead Redemption and RDR 2 Steam communities are actively submitting complaints to Rockstar Games support.

As of now, players have not received specific solutions. Rockstar representatives have confirmed that the issue is under investigation.

Some players are temporarily refraining from accessing Red Dead Online, fearing potential account bans due to the presence of these undeserved achievements.
