Resident Evil Creator and Stellar Blade Developers Hint at New Game Collaboration

Recent online hints suggest a potential collaboration between Shinji Mikami, the acclaimed creator of the Resident Evil franchise, and Shift Up, the studio behind the highly anticipated game Stellar Blade. Both parties have almost simultaneously released enigmatic teasers, strongly pointing towards an imminent announcement.

Mikami’s new studio, Unbound, and the team at Shift Up have shared materials of a remarkably similar nature. Both teasers feature the identical phrase “Announcement Coming Soon…” alongside a consistent stylistic presentation. Notably, Shift Up’s announcement includes a specific date: April 1, 2026, hinting at the project’s details being revealed relatively soon.

Adding further intrigue is a video clip published by Unbound, depicting a conversation between Mikami and a mysterious individual. In the video, the legendary developer states, “Let’s create games together that will change the world,” to which the other person responds, “I will do everything in my power.” These exchanges only fuel speculation about a potential joint venture between the two esteemed teams.

As of now, neither party has officially confirmed a collaborative project. However, the striking coincidence in their messaging and timing makes a partnership scenario highly probable.
