Publisher of “Songs of Conquest” Closes Mobile Studio Coffee Stain Malmö

Coffee Stain has announced the closure of its mobile division, Coffee Stain Malmö, located in Sweden. Daniel Persson, the company’s vice president of mobile, confirmed the news on LinkedIn.

Established in 2021, the studio was responsible for mobile development and publishing activities, employing approximately 17 people. Coffee Stain Malmö previously handled the port of the popular game Goat Simulator to smartphones in 2023. The team was also actively developing the mobile version of Songs of Conquest, a highly anticipated spiritual successor to the “Heroes of Might and Magic” series, which was set to launch on iOS and Android in March 2025.

Persson described the creation of the studio from scratch as a significant career milestone for him. He extended his gratitude to the team, emphasizing their high level of expertise and encouraging other companies to consider them for future opportunities.

The specific reasons behind the division’s closure have not been disclosed. It also remains unclear whether Coffee Stain Publishing will continue to release mobile versions of its projects in the future following this development.
