VR game developer Polyarc Games, widely recognized for its enchanting Moss series, has announced substantial staff reductions. This difficult decision comes as a direct result of financial strain stemming from the cancellation of a key project the team was actively developing.

In an official statement, the developers conveyed the gravity of the situation:

We have had to significantly reduce the size of our company. This means saying goodbye to many talented individuals who made immense contributions to our projects. We extend our gratitude to everyone affected by this decision.

Polyarc was founded by veterans from acclaimed studios Bungie and Rockstar. The studio earned critical acclaim for its titles Moss and Moss: Book II, which captivated the VR market with their innovative gameplay, particularly the unique mechanic of communicating with the protagonist through sign language.

While not officially confirmed by the studio, unofficial reports suggest that the canceled project might have been a new installment in the beloved Moss franchise.
