The free-to-play game Neverness to Everness (NTE), developed in a GTA-like style, is garnering significant attention, with its pre-registered user base already exceeding 30 million. Sony PlayStation has joined the promotional efforts, releasing an advertisement encouraging digital pre-orders for the title.
However, it’s important to clarify that PlayStation’s advertisement is somewhat misleading: NTE itself will be a free game. The ‘pre-order’ actually pertains to a special ‘pre-order pack’ containing in-game items: Fabricated Dice (x5), De-noise Solution (x10), Elite Hunter Guide (x10), Chaotic Dye (x10), Manhole Boss (x10), and 100,000 Beetle Coin. These items are likely to be easily unlockable through regular gameplay.
NTE will feature a microtransaction system for acquiring characters and cosmetic items. Nevertheless, according to blogger Stix, this system promises to be one of the most player-friendly among Chinese F2P titles. Developers are reportedly guaranteeing a character after 90 attempts and will forego the often-criticized 50/50 system seen in games like Genshin Impact. It’s also stated that the initial set of heroes will be sufficient to complete all story content without requiring additional spending. The full functionality of these systems will become clear upon the game’s release, scheduled for April 29, 2026.
