Pearl Abyss has expressed optimism regarding the sales of its highly anticipated game, Crimson Desert, anticipating that figures will soon surpass the 5 million copies mark globally. Previously, CEO Heo Jin-young announced impressive initial results, highlighting that 2 million copies were sold on the domestic market on the first day, with sales reaching 3 million within the first four days.
Following this robust initial success, Pearl Abyss is also exploring the possibility of releasing Crimson Desert on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. Developers have already commenced internal research and development for this endeavor. However, the company warns that porting such a graphically intensive game to Nintendo’s platform will likely require certain compromises. This is attributed to the significant differences in technical specifications between the Switch 2 and other high-end platforms where the game is currently available or planned for release.
