NVIDIA DLSS 5 Presentation Blocked on YouTube Amidst Copyright Claims

The intricate world of copyright enforcement continues to present unexpected challenges.

Recently, the NVIDIA DLSS 5 presentation once again became a topic of discussion, not for its groundbreaking technology, but due to an extensive campaign of DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) complaints regarding alleged copyright infringement.

Surprisingly, even NVIDIA itself was affected. Reports indicate that the Italian private television channel La7, which had apparently used footage from the DLSS 5 presentation in its own broadcasts, was responsible for issuing these DMCA notices.

As a result, the original NVIDIA video experienced severe restrictions, displaying a message that stated:

The video is unavailable. It contains material from La7, a partner, which has blocked the video in your country due to copyright infringement.

In addition, several content creators and bloggers who had incorporated segments of the NVIDIA DLSS 5 presentation into their videos also received DMCA strikes.

Those impacted by these complaints speculate that the La7 employee tasked with copyright enforcement might have been inexperienced and inadvertently initiated a mass distribution of claims. This misstep subsequently triggered YouTube’s automated AI moderation system, leading to the imposition of restrictions even on NVIDIA’s own original presentation video.
