Nintendo Reportedly Shifting Star Fox Tone Towards Humor for New Game

Ahead of any official announcement, an insider revealed that a new “classic-style” Star Fox game is currently in development and is expected to launch this summer for the Nintendo Switch 2. This news marks a significant update for a series that has remained silent since 2016.

While specific details remain scarce, it appears Nintendo is placing a strong emphasis on humor for the upcoming title. A journalist mentioned in a podcast that he’s heard the game is “really very funny.” He speculates this indicates a greater focus on the script and a “different vision” compared to previous installments in the franchise.

This humorous direction doesn’t seem out of place, especially considering the inherent comedic potential of anthropomorphic animals engaging in space warfare. However, given Nintendo’s recent foray into incorporating humor through NPCs in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the ultimate reception from players will be a key factor.
