Nikita Buyanov Confirms Unity 6 Engine Update for Escape from Tarkov

Nikita Buyanov, the head of Battlestate Games, has officially confirmed that the main game, Escape from Tarkov, will receive an engine update to Unity 6. This news follows the recent announcement that the online shooter Escape from Tarkov: Arena would be transitioning to the new engine, prompting speculation among players about a similar update for the core game.

Buyanov addressed these discussions, stating, “Yes. Unity 6 will also be in Escape from Tarkov. First, we will test everything on the ETS server.” This update is anticipated to significantly improve Tarkov’s overall performance.

While the exact release date for the Unity 6 update in the main Escape from Tarkov remains unconfirmed, Battlestate Games plans to roll out the update for Arena in the near future, promising enhanced performance for that title as well.
