The acclaimed studio Science SARU, known for “Dandadan,” has released fresh materials for the upcoming anime adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s “Ghost in the Shell.”
Science SARU presented a second teaser trailer and a new key visual for the “Ghost in the Shell” anime, with its premiere scheduled for July 2026.
Previously, the creators stated that this new version would be visually closer to Masamune Shirow’s original manga than previous adaptations. The latest teaser offers a clear glimpse into the style and designs of familiar characters, including Motoko Kusanagi and Fuchikoma — the autonomous combat tank and an enduring symbol of the franchise.
A new poster, crafted by character designer Shuhei Handa, also prominently features these two iconic characters.

The project is directed by Touma Kimura, also known as Moko-chan. Tou Enjo (“Godzilla Singular Point”) is overseeing the screenplay and composition, while Shuhei Handa (“Scott Pilgrim Takes Off”) is responsible for character design and animation direction. The musical score is being composed by Taisei Iwasaki, Ryo Konishi, and Yuki Kanesaka.
