Cosplayers Margarita “Carroty” Zhila and Anna “Nova” Weber have presented Baldur’s Gate 3 fans with a truly unusual interpretation of the beloved characters Minthara and Karlach. Departing from their traditional fantasy guises, the heroines are reimagined in a distinct “gopnik” style – enthusiasts of the signature squatting pose, sporting Adidas apparel, and enjoying music with a “three stripes” theme.
This creative project isn’t the sole instance of a modern adaptation for characters from the acclaimed RPG Baldur’s Gate 3, highlighting a growing trend among cosplayers.

During a captivating photoshoot, Margarita Zhila and Anna Weber brought Minthara Baenre and Karlach to life in this entirely new, contemporary light.

Instead of the familiar classic appearances of these Baldur’s Gate 3 companions, the cosplayers offered a unique glimpse into “gopniks” from a “Forgotten Realms” Khrushchyovka. These characters, it seems, might prefer to relieve unsuspecting paladins and mages of their gold coins in dark alleyways, spend their time squatting near taverns, and indulging in dubious concoctions.

Minthara, known as a drow with a pragmatic and often ruthless approach to evil, yet possessing a nuanced, softer side, typically manifests as a commanding woman. She is adept at manipulating others to achieve her objectives, preferring not to put herself at unnecessary risk.

Karlach, the Tiefling barbarian, a former prisoner and champion of Zariel, is a fierce warrior whose core values are freedom and independence. Despite her formidable appearance and powerful physique, Karlach is celebrated for her genuinely kind and loving heart.
