Bungie appears to have overlooked a critical inventory management detail: players might simply not have enough space for their Twitch rewards in the new shooter, Marathon.
Players are encountering a significant problem when trying to claim in-game rewards tied to a Twitch launch event for Bungie’s latest title. Developers have issued a warning that a specific “Twitch Sponsored Kit” can vanish without a trace if a player’s inventory is completely full.
This “Twitch Sponsored Kit” is a reward obtained through the in-game notification tab after participating in designated Twitch streaming events. Upon activation, it grants random weapons and gear for use during a run. Normally, after acquisition, these items are automatically sent to the player’s storage.
However, this is precisely where the issue lies. Unlike other in-game rewards—such as those received from completing contracts or increasing faction ranks—the Twitch kits do not get routed to an overflow section if storage space is unavailable. Instead, they simply disappear.
Bungie is aware of the problem and has advised players to ensure they have free space in their inventory before claiming these rewards. Based on the studio’s communication, it seems unlikely that a direct technical fix for this particular bug is currently planned.
