Bungie has announced upcoming balance adjustments for the shooter Marathon, specifically targeting several in-game mechanics that have garnered significant player complaints.
Game Director Joe Ziegler confirmed that these changes will be implemented in phases: some adjustments will arrive with the very next patch, while others will follow approximately a week later.
Among the primary concerns are power fields, which developers believe are “too effective and too easy to acquire.” Knives will also see a reduction in power; their damage currently scales too rapidly, allowing players to dispatch opponents efficiently, even within protected zones.
Sniper rifles are also slated for nerfs, as Ziegler noted they are “too strong in all situations.” Additionally, the influence of thermal sights, which currently dominate the battlefield, will be weakened to ensure a more balanced gameplay experience.
