The creators of MindsEye have chosen an exceptionally unusual path. The studio head has announced a new mission intended to present some of the ‘evidence’ of alleged sabotage surrounding the game’s release.

Build A Rocket Boy studio confirmed that an upcoming update will include a story mission titled ‘Blacklist’. According to CEO Mark Gerhard, the mission contains elements that reveal clues to the alleged sabotage that impacted the game’s launch.

Gerhard previously claimed that ‘organized espionage and corporate sabotage’ were behind the poor launch, with the matter even being escalated to law enforcement agencies in the US and UK. Now, the company intends to ‘tell its side of the story’ directly within the game. The new mission will not only expand the narrative but also present the community with fragments of materials related to these accusations.

The situation remains contentious. MindsEye had an extremely poor launch in 2025, drawing heavy criticism for bugs and low quality, with its ratings becoming some of the worst in the industry. Some players are skeptical of these claims, believing the issues stem from production errors rather than external interference.
