For years, the PlayStation community buzzed about an “impossible platinum” in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus on the PS Vita handheld console. Many players considered this achievement unattainable, but Japanese gamer Tqvry managed to disprove these beliefs by earning the coveted trophy. His success generated significant excitement, as this trophy has long been a legend among achievement hunters.
The primary challenge lay in the “Dynamic Duo” gold trophy, which required completing all missions on Turbo difficulty. The PS Vita version of the game lacked full online support for this mode, forcing players to rely on extremely limited artificial intelligence. Further difficulties were created by the 30 frames per second framerate, whereas Ninja Gaiden games were originally designed for 60 FPS. Collectively, these factors transformed combat encounters into an incredibly difficult challenge, proving to be an insurmountable obstacle for the vast majority of players.
Tqvry showcased his achievement by streaming a 9-hour marathon, thereby confirming the legitimacy and fairness of obtaining the platinum trophy. As of today, he is the only player in the world whose legal acquisition of this coveted trophy has been officially verified.
