Will Grand Theft Auto VI make its way to a Nintendo console? Insider reports are increasingly suggesting the game will launch on the upcoming Switch 2. Rumors about Rockstar Games exploring the capabilities of Nintendo’s new hybrid platform first began circulating as early as last November.
While the idea of such a blockbuster title running on a handheld device might seem far-fetched, the discussion continues to gain significant traction.
Blogger KiwiTalkz shared that a reliable source, who has proven accurate on multiple occasions, maintains that GTA 6 is indeed being developed for the Nintendo Switch 2. The situation has progressed to the point where KiwiTalkz even made a bet with this informant: if Rockstar announces a Switch 2 version before early May, the blogger will lose and pay for a lavish dinner for their opponent.
KiwiTalkz stated:
“Flights to India are now booked for June! It looks like I’m set to win this lavish dinner with my Rockstar source regarding GTA 6 for Switch 2. My source (who has gotten various things right) has been saying for months that GTA 6 will arrive day and date for Switch 2, which I thought was complete nonsense and challenged him on, but he doubled down. Rockstar has until early May to announce the Switch 2 version, otherwise I win. I’ll definitely post photos from the dinner, lol.”
Proponents of this theory argue that if the game is capable of running on the Xbox Series S, then with sufficient optimization, it could potentially also make its way to Nintendo’s new platform.
