The upcoming animated film, “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” is set to surprise audiences with the appearance of a character from another beloved Nintendo franchise.
As part of its promotional campaign, Nintendo has released a new poster confirming that Fox McCloud, the iconic hero from the Star Fox series, will be featured in the movie. Star Fox is one of Nintendo’s oldest franchises, which has received limited new projects and media attention in recent years.
Glen Powell, known for his roles in films such as “The Running Man” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” will lend his voice to the character. The involvement of such a prominent actor could indicate a more significant role for McCloud in the film’s plot.
Fox McCloud’s appearance might also be seen as a signal of Nintendo’s renewed interest in the Star Fox franchise. It’s possible this could be a stepping stone towards larger crossovers in future Nintendo projects.
The global premiere of “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” is scheduled for April 1, 2026. The film will be released in Russian cinemas on April 11 of the same year.
