Players eagerly anticipating the release of Ghost of Yōtei: Legends have recently learned that the game’s inaugural raid is scheduled to launch on April 10th. After weeks of battling the formidable Yōtei Six, players will finally get the chance to confront the powerful Lord Saito. However, those without a pre-assembled team will face additional delays before they can join the fight.

Sucker Punch, the developers, have clarified that in-game matchmaking for the raid will not be available upon its initial release. This feature is expected to be implemented “in a couple of weeks” following the raid’s debut. In the interim, the development team encourages players to utilize the official Discord channel to find teammates and organize groups.

This decision, while potentially frustrating for some, is somewhat understandable. The developers likely aim to foster more cohesive and communicative teams, believing that actively forming groups outside of random matchmaking can lead to a more coordinated and successful raid experience.

Nonetheless, it’s worth noting that its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, did feature raid matchmaking from the outset. In that title, even randomly formed groups often managed to succeed without significant issues once players grasped the game’s mechanics and strategies.

A technical delay could also be a contributing factor, suggesting that the matchmaking system might require more development time. Regardless of the reason, players aiming to acquire the most coveted loot and cosmetic items from the raid will either need to organize a dedicated team beforehand or patiently await the forthcoming update that enables in-game matchmaking.
