Middle East Conflict: Europe Braces for Arms Supply Delays

The escalating tensions between the United States and Iran are projected to result in significant delays concerning American weapon deliveries to Europe. This concern was voiced by Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

“The American defense industry will inevitably concentrate on replenishing its inventories utilized in the Middle East,” stated Kosiniak-Kamysz. “We anticipate certain delays in supplies, especially if the conflict becomes prolonged. This situation critically emphasizes the necessity for European nations to rapidly build up their own manufacturing capabilities.”

Andrius Kubilius, the European Commissioner for Defense and Space, concurred with this perspective, adding that the United States would likely struggle to sufficiently meet the demands of Gulf nations, Ukraine, and its own military concurrently.

Earlier reports have also indicated that a sustained U.S. focus on military operations in the Iranian region could potentially lead to an acute deficit of air defense missiles for Ukraine.
