Speculation is mounting regarding the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the popular webtoon and anime "Solo Leveling" by Netflix. An insider known as ggonigone, who has a track record of providing accurate information on Korean projects, suggests that principal photography for the series could commence as early as May 2026.
According to these reports, filming is expected to span approximately three to four months, with the inaugural season comprising seven episodes. Should these timelines hold true, fans might anticipate the series' release in late 2027 or early 2028, aligning with the typical post-production schedules for major streaming productions.
The directorial duo of Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, recognized for their work on the film "Castaway on the Moon," are slated to helm the project. South Korean actor Byeon Woo-seok, known for his role in "Moonlight," is reportedly cast as the lead, hunter Sung Jin-woo. Furthermore, Korean media outlets are speculating that Han So-hee, star of "My Name," might join the cast as Cha Hae-in, the sole S-rank female hunter in the original narrative.
