While the meticulous design of aircraft often takes center stage in flight simulators, 1C Game Studios is dedicated to ensuring that the ground environments in their upcoming title, "Il-2: Korea Game Series," are equally impressive. The developers have shared new insights into their efforts to create a highly detailed and realistic natural world for players to explore from above.

To achieve this, 1C Game Studios has fundamentally re-evaluated and revamped their graphical engine and artistic methodologies. Moving beyond previous approaches used in titles like 'Great Battles,' their artists have developed new techniques specifically for "Il-2: Korea." This intense work aimed to deliver a natural environment that is more detailed, diverse, and realistic. Extensive research was conducted to define new color palettes, textures, and natural patterns, rebuilding these elements from the ground up to integrate seamlessly with the game's new technologies and advanced lighting systems.

The development team noted that in earlier screenshots and promotional materials, the ground often appeared dark and uniform, causing objects to stand out unnaturally. This was attributed to the use of temporary textures and placeholder color relationships. However, the implementation of these new technologies demanded a fresh set of parameters, which has resulted in a richer, more varied, and significantly more natural-looking environment.
