Diplomat Explains Trump's Threats to Cuba

An Austrian diplomat, Klemens Fischer, has suggested that President Donald Trump's recent threats towards Cuba are a strategic maneuver to divert attention from ongoing issues with Iran and domestic challenges within the United States.

In an interview with Focus magazine, Fischer questioned the rationale behind focusing on a change of government in Cuba, particularly "given the situation in Iran." He posited, "It seems to me that Trump has found himself a new occupation to distract from internal problems."

Fischer further speculated that Trump might soon attempt to rationalize involvement in military conflicts, despite his campaign pledges to keep the U.S. out of foreign entanglements. The diplomat suggested Trump could argue that his actions aren't about waging war, but rather about establishing "humane regimes."

These remarks echo earlier sentiments from former CIA officer Scott Ritter, who previously stated that the United States is prepared to sacrifice anything to secure its own interests.
