GameMT, a company renowned for its original devices catering to retro gamers, has unveiled its latest innovation: the E5 MODX portable console. This model is a heavily modified version of the E5 console, released earlier in 2024, and promises to impress users with its unique design and functionality.

A key feature of the E5 MODX is its removable modular display, boasting a resolution of 1024×768. This innovative approach allows the screen to be replaced with a MagSafe connector, enabling modern smartphones to connect to the console’s controller via Bluetooth. Thus, users can enjoy their favorite games by using their phone as the display.

Under the hood, the device is powered by a Mediatek MTK6771 Helio P60 chipset, complemented by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The screen attaches magnetically and is easily removed using a special mechanism. This not only facilitates its replacement with the MagSafe connector but also offers potential for connecting other future accessories.

Currently, it remains unclear whether there will be a physical connection between the removable display and the controller, or if pairing will occur exclusively via Bluetooth. Additionally, there is no information yet regarding the pre-order dates or the official release of the GameMT E5 MODX.
