Forza Horizon 6, set against the vibrant backdrop of Japan, is poised to deliver a massive leap in visual fidelity and an extensive suite of customization options. Over 550 vehicles in the game will receive a significant graphical overhaul, benefiting from new light refraction shaders in their headlights. Players will also gain the ability to apply window decals and fully wrap vehicle bodies, offering unparalleled personalization. Developer Playground Games has shared further details on these customization enhancements.
When selecting a color, you can easily switch between gloss, matte, and metallic finishes. Materials can be marked as favorites for quick access, such as new Candy or Metal Flake paint options. Additionally, Forza Aero body kit elements, including spoiler uprights and tow hooks, can now be painted independently.
The depth of tuning extends beyond cosmetic alterations. Players will have the unique option to swap motorcycle engines into small cars, opening up new performance possibilities. The game will introduce over 100 new wheel designs, with the flexibility to use different models for the front and rear axles. Furthermore, new tire tread patterns will be available to enhance both aesthetics and performance.
The expansive Japanese map will be a treasure trove for car enthusiasts, featuring rare, custom-tuned vehicles to discover. These include iconic builds like a Honda S2000 adorned with a Rocket Bunny kit and a McLaren 570S modified by Duke Dynamics. The game will also introduce “Treasures” — hidden classic cars that players must locate using photographs and then restore to their former glory. Notable finds include a 1991 Nissan Figaro and a legendary 1969 Dodge Charger R/T.
Forza Horizon 6 is scheduled for release on May 19, 2026, for both PC and Xbox platforms.
