In 2026, retro gaming enthusiasts with a fondness for the Nintendo 64 will have a new device to look forward to: Blaze Entertainment’s Evercade Nexus portable console. This handheld features a 5.89-inch IPS screen and will come bundled with a physical cartridge containing both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie.
The Evercade platform, an ecosystem developed by Blaze Entertainment, is dedicated to officially licensed retro gaming. All games within its library are authorized by their respective rights holders and are distributed on physical cartridges, complete with attractive packaging and colorful manuals.

Blaze Entertainment has today initiated pre-orders for the Evercade Nexus portable console. This device boasts a 5.89-inch IPS display with an 840×512 resolution and over 500 nits of brightness. The standard edition is priced at $199.99, while the special Nexus 64 version is available for $229.99.

The Evercade Nexus features a comprehensive control scheme including two analog sticks, a D-pad, classic face buttons, rear bumpers and triggers, and textured grips for comfort. Under the hood, it’s powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 4GB EMMC RAM, Wi-Fi 6 (5 GHz), and a 5000 mAh battery offering over 5 hours of gameplay.

Measuring 21.5 cm wide, 11.1 cm high, and 3.4 cm deep, the Evercade Nexus weighs 410 grams. Each console will ship with the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack cartridge, featuring both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie on a single physical cart.

Two distinct color variants are available: a sleek all-black Nexus with dark buttons and a neon-red logo, and the Nexus 64, which sports an N64-inspired casing color scheme, complete with main and functional elements reminiscent of the classic N64 controller.

Beyond the included title, the console supports the entire Evercade library, which currently comprises over 80 cartridges and more than 700 games. Additionally, the EverSync feature allows users to locally share a single game with another Evercade Nexus console.

Similar to the EXP and EXP-R models, the device supports TATE mode, allowing for vertical orientation for compatible games. The Nexus 64 version is a limited edition, with only 2,000 units available, and includes a branded hard case. Shipments and the official release of the Evercade Nexus are scheduled for October 2026.
