В рамках этого обновления игроки смогут исследовать полностью перестроенный с нуля Амстердам.
Особым вызовом для команды SCS Software стал дизайн участка кольцевой дороги A10 Zuid, расположенной к югу от Амстердама. В реальном мире этот отрезок в настоящее время переносится в подземный тоннель. Однако разработчики приняли решение сохранить его на поверхности в игре, используя ранее собранные референсы. Это решение позволит игрокам насладиться уникальным опытом вождения по автомагистралям, проходящим под высотными зданиями — зрелище, которое является редкостью для европейских городов.

Euro Truck Simulator 2: Completely Reworked Amsterdam and a Unique Road That No Longer Exists in Reality — First Screenshots of the Benelux Update
The creators of the popular truck simulator Euro Truck Simulator 2 have released a new developer diary, focusing on the extensive overhaul of the Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg). As part of this update, players will be able to explore a completely rebuilt Amsterdam, designed from the ground up.
A particular challenge for the SCS Software team was the design of the A10 Zuid ring road section, located south of Amsterdam. In reality, this part of the road is currently being moved into an underground tunnel. However, the developers decided to keep it above ground in the game, utilizing references collected before the tunnel construction began. This decision will offer players a unique driving experience along highways that pass beneath high-rise buildings — a sight that is rare in European cities.
The developers clarified that while it won’t be possible to drive directly through the historic city center, carefully chosen locations and viewpoints will allow players to fully grasp the spirit of Amsterdam.
The release date for the Benelux update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is currently unknown. The presented images are “work in progress” and do not reflect the final quality of the content.
