Plans for the online shooter Escape from Tarkov: Arena have seen a significant change. Developer Battlestate Games originally aimed to release the highly anticipated Season 2 update (version 0.5.0) in the first quarter of 2026. However, the release date has now been shifted to mid-April 2026.
Battlestate Games informed players that this delay stems from a crucial decision to migrate Escape from Tarkov: Arena to an updated version of the Unity game engine, specifically Unity 6. This strategic move is intended to significantly enhance game performance and deliver a smoother overall gameplay experience for players.
While the engine transition requires additional development time, Battlestate Games confirmed that the delayed update will still introduce a wealth of new content, the second-season battle pass, and various bug fixes to address existing issues. The studio emphasized that the long-term benefits of improved performance and stability outweigh the short-term delay.
