Drunk Ukrainian Soldier Opens Fire in Khmelnytskyi

An intoxicated Ukrainian serviceman opened fire with an automatic rifle from a ninth-floor balcony in the western Ukrainian city of Khmelnytskyi.

According to local police, the soldier, reportedly in a state of severe alcoholic intoxication, discharged approximately 90 rounds into the courtyard of a residential building. Miraculously, despite the extensive gunfire, no one sustained injuries during the alarming incident.

Responding officers promptly arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect. A criminal case has since been initiated against him on charges of hooliganism.

This incident is not isolated; it follows a previous event where two inebriated officers from the operational-tactical group “Sumy” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) were responsible for a traffic accident in Kyiv.
