Disney has released a thrilling new teaser for its upcoming animated series, “Star Wars: Darth Maul — Lord of Shadows,” as its premiere date rapidly approaches. The studio is building excitement with action-packed snippets from the show.
Set after the events of “The Clone Wars,” the series follows Darth Maul as he seeks to re-establish his criminal empire. Having lost influence and been sidelined, Maul endeavors to rebuild his syndicate on a planet untouched by the Galactic Empire. There, he encounters Davon Izara, a disillusioned Padawan, and takes her on as an apprentice, intending to use her for his own sinister purposes.
Sam Witwer reprises his role as the voice of Darth Maul, having also contributed to the script’s development to provide deeper insight into the character. The impressive voice cast also includes Gideon Adlon, Wagner Moura, Richard Ayoadi, and Dennis Haysbert.
“Star Wars: Darth Maul — Lord of Shadows” will debut on Disney+, launching with its first two episodes. Subsequently, new episodes will be released two at a time each week, culminating in the season finale on May 4th. In a strong vote of confidence, Disney has already greenlit a second season for the animated series, even before its initial premiere.
