The upcoming “Heavy Duty” expansion for Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is set to reintroduce the beloved Egg Hunt seasonal mode, a fan-favorite from the main Deep Rock Galactic game. This iteration, however, comes with a fresh adaptation specifically tailored for the roguelite Survivor experience.
In this mission, players will utilize their trusted drone companion, Bosco, to meticulously gather eggs scattered across the map. These collected eggs must then be safely transported to a central cargo module. Successfully meeting the established quotas is key, and any extra eggs gathered will yield valuable bonus rewards.
The climactic final stage of the mission unfolds dramatically upon the delivery of the very last egg. A formidable Brood Nexus will menacingly emerge directly above the cargo module, immediately unleashing a relentless wave of enemies. After clearing these immediate threats, players must engage and defeat a powerful boss to successfully complete the mission and ensure the safety of all the precious eggs they’ve gathered.

Developers at Funday Games emphasize a significant distinction from the original Egg Hunt mode: the Survivor version adopts a “star-shaped” mission structure. This means eggs are collected from various outlying points across the map and are always returned to a single, central module. This design choice significantly elevates the importance of strategic positioning and meticulous route planning for efficient and successful egg retrieval.
Mark your calendars: this exciting DLC, featuring the revamped Egg Hunt mode, is officially scheduled for release on April 30, 2026.
