Pearl Abyss has implemented changes to a tutorial puzzle in their upcoming action RPG, Crimson Desert, making it more intuitive for players.

Based on feedback from game journalists who received early access, developers discovered that the introductory puzzle presented significant difficulties.
Initially, the sole instruction for the puzzle mechanism was a vague “Activate device,” which reportedly confused many players, preventing them from progressing effectively.

In response, the developers have added both textual and visual cues to guide players. For example, there’s now a clear text message explaining the core gameplay mechanic, such as needing to “hang” on the device.
Furthermore, visual markers in the form of “spotlights” will now illuminate the correct positions where puzzle elements need to be placed, ensuring a smoother learning experience for all players.
