In a recent update for the game Crimson Desert, players noticed a minor linguistic adjustment that hasn’t pleased everyone. The developers introduced a change in terminology for what were previously referred to as “Fat Cats.”
Instead of “Fat Cat,” the game now uses “Loafy Cat” (literally “loaf cat”), a term that references their plump, bread-like shape, seemingly aiming for a more inclusive or respectful tone.
This alteration has not gone over well with fans of the original term, who are now calling for the return of “Fat Cat.”
One community member, identifying as a “professional baker,” expressed particular dissatisfaction with “Loafy,” suggesting “Chonky” as a preferred alternative. “Chonky” is a popular internet term often used affectionately to describe animals that are appealingly plump.
