The developers of the upcoming action RPG Crimson Desert have issued an apology to players using keyboard and mouse setups, promising to rectify the widely criticized control scheme. Following the game’s initial release and subsequent “mixed” reviews on Steam, numerous players voiced their frustration not only with some content choices but predominantly with the overly complex and confusing control layout.
Pearl Abyss, the development studio behind Crimson Desert, has officially acknowledged these issues. In a recent statement, they extended their apologies specifically to keyboard and mouse users who have experienced an unsatisfactory gaming experience.
“Since the release, we have been carefully listening to your feedback and doing our best to improve the game. In particular, we are aware of the inconveniences that many players are experiencing with the controls, and we are currently preparing a patch to address them. We also want to apologize to keyboard and mouse players for not providing a satisfactory gaming experience. Please know that we take your feedback seriously and are working to improve your gaming experience as soon as possible.”
This official statement from the developers comes after an earlier incident where a PR representative for Crimson Desert suggested that players should perceive learning the game’s controls as akin to learning to ride a bicycle, a comment that was met with further player discontent. With this new announcement, Pearl Abyss aims to directly address the community’s concerns and enhance the overall gameplay experience for all players.
