Crimson Desert: A True Money-Making Machine with Hundreds of Millions in Revenue

Pearl Abyss recently confirmed that sales for Crimson Desert have impressively reached over 4 million copies, steadily approaching the 5 million mark.

According to data from Alinea Analytics, the project generated more than $20 million in revenue from pre-orders alone, even before its official release. The firm now reports that the game’s total revenue across all platforms has surpassed $200 million. The PlayStation 5 version notably leads in earnings, contributing nearly $75 million.

Analysts also identified a significant audience overlap with another major open-world action RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2. It was reported that 38% of Crimson Desert players on PS5 also engaged with Capcom’s title. Other popular games among this player base include Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
