Baldur’s Gate 3 Star Jennifer English Almost Missed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Audition

Jennifer English, the actress celebrated for her role in Baldur’s Gate 3, recently disclosed a surprising detail about her journey to securing the part of Mael in the upcoming game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. She admitted that she very nearly didn’t get the role due to her last-minute audition habits.

English shared that she typically records her audition tapes right before the deadline, often in haste and wherever she happens to be. The audition for Expedition 33 was no exception to this personal rule. In fact, she ended up recording her performance for Mael late one night, at two o’clock in the morning, directly from her bed.

Despite the unconventional and rushed circumstances, her spontaneous recording resonated with the creators of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Her unique approach paid off, and the actress was ultimately cast in the role of Mael.
