Alena Baranova, known for her role as Head of Actor Direction on the acclaimed title Baldur’s Gate 3, was far from surprised by the significant success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. While the game’s performance caught many off guard, Baranova had foreseen its potential from the very beginning, confidently staking a bet on its triumphant launch.
Speaking at Emerald City Comic Con 2026, Baranova revealed the details of her prediction and the wager:
“I knew [the game would be successful]. Honestly, I made a bet with Jack from the Kepler Interactive publishing team that it would sell a million copies in its first week. I made the bet, and the prize was 33 baguettes. Jack, where are my baguettes?”
As of now, there have been no public reports confirming whether Jack has delivered the promised 33 baguettes to the Baldur’s Gate 3 veteran.
