AUO Unveils the World’s First 800Hz Monitor: Redefining Display Fluidity

At the Touch Taiwan 2026 exhibition, Taiwanese manufacturer AUO made a splash by introducing a device that fundamentally redefines the concept of image fluidity. The highlight of the presentation was the world’s first 24-inch Full HD monitor, boasting an unprecedented 800 Hz refresh rate.

While companies like HKC and Antgamer have recently announced work on panels approaching the 1000 Hz mark, AUO is the first to achieve 800 Hz on the standard 24-inch diagonal favored by professional esports, all while maintaining native 1080p resolution.

Beyond the flagship model, AUO also showcased two displays featuring a unique dual-mode operation. The first is a 32-inch 4K monitor with a 360 Hz refresh rate. The second is a 27-inch panel offering 5K resolution and a 180 Hz refresh rate. These versatile solutions are designed to meet the demands of users who value both high detail in single-player games and minimal latency in fast-paced online battles.

Details regarding pricing and exact release dates are yet to be disclosed. AUO (formerly known as AU Optronics) is a pivotal global display manufacturer. While its own brand rarely appears on consumer shelves, the company actively supplies display panels for monitors from industry giants such as ASUS, MSI, Acer, and Dell, making it a significant player in the industry.
