Aliens: Fireteam Elite, the cooperative shooter that allowed players to team up and combat hordes of Xenomorphs, is facing a significant setback for its Nintendo player base. Launched five years ago, and arriving on Nintendo systems two years ago, the game has now been unexpectedly removed from the Nintendo eShop.

Even more impactful for existing owners, the game’s online servers will be permanently shut down on August 5, 2026. This decision effectively ends access for players who purchased the standard edition of the game, often for around $30, making their investment short-lived on Nintendo platforms.

The developers have expressed their gratitude to the community for their support. They also issued an apology, stating that after August 5, 2026, access to the game will no longer be possible for Nintendo users.
