A hint about future plans came from the series director, Tetsuya Nomura. To mark the franchise’s 24th anniversary, a commemorative illustration was released, accompanied by a message from the creator for fans. In it, Nomura noted that the teams are working with an eye towards the series’ 25th anniversary, which falls in March 2027.
This suggests that fresh details about the game might only emerge around that time. In such a scenario, the communication gap since the initial announcement will span a full five years. Currently, gameplay specifics and a release date are absent, as the studio is focused on refining the project before its next major presentation.
