A new live-action adaptation of the iconic 80s franchise, “Masters of the Universe,” is set to hit theaters in the summer of 2026. Amazon MGM and Mattel Studios have unveiled the thrilling first trailer for this highly anticipated reboot.
The film tells the story of Prince Adam, who has spent 15 long years on Earth, far from his home world of Eternia. When the Sword of Power calls him back, Adam returns to find his planet in ruins, with power firmly in the hands of the ruthless Skeletor. To save his family and the devastated kingdom, Adam must unite with loyal allies and embrace his true destiny — to become He-Man, the most powerful man in the Universe and Eternia’s last hope.
The star-studded cast includes Nicholas Galitzine as Adam/He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Jared Leto as Skeletor, and Idris Elba as Duncan. Also featured are Morena Baccarin (Sorceress), James Purefoy (King Randor), Charlotte Riley (Queen Marlena), and Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn).
Travis Knight, known for “Bumblebee,” takes the director’s chair. The screenplay was developed by a talented team, including Chris Butler (“Kubo and the Two Strings”) and David Callaham (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “Mortal Kombat,” “Godzilla”).
The global premiere of “Masters of the Universe” is scheduled for June 5, 2026.
